Who Is the Real FIRBIMATIC in the United States?A Public Warning About Ongoing Misrepresentation, Market Confusion, and a Two-Decade Pattern of Hostility
For more than two decades, my business, Corbett Equipment, has faced ongoing interference, misrepresentation, and marketplace confusion caused by parties attempting to present themselves to the public as “FIRBIMATIC USA” while operating in ways that, in my view, are misleading and improper.
I am publishing this statement so customers, vendors, industry contacts, and the public can better understand what has been happening and why this issue matters.
Corbett Equipment Is the True U.S. Entity Behind My Longstanding FIRBIMATIC History
I am James J. Corbett, doing business as Corbett Equipment, and I have operated in this industry for decades. My company has long maintained a legitimate historical presence in the United States connected to FIRBIMATIC-related sales, service, technical support, parts, and online publishing. My business history predates the later public appearance of certain competing parties now attempting to present themselves under confusingly similar names.
In my view, the public has been deliberately misled by a coordinated effort to fragment one operation into multiple names, multiple listings, and multiple supposed identities in order to create the false appearance of separate legitimate businesses where there is, in reality, a closely connected network.
The Chicago Haiges Building and the “FIRBIMATIC USA” Representation
One of the most troubling examples involves parties operating out of or connected to the Haiges building in the Chicago area, where individuals have held themselves out to the public under the “FIRBIMATIC USA” name and related branding.
This representation is deeply misleading.
Based on the records, business conduct, and history I have reviewed, these parties have attempted to create the impression that they are the authentic U.S. continuation or official embodiment of FIRBIMATIC, while my own longstanding business history, technical archives, customer relationships, and marketplace presence have been ignored, overridden, or misappropriated.
The use of the toll-free number 1-800-220-0630 in connection with this presentation raises serious concerns for me because it appears to be part of a broader pattern of public-facing confusion and false association.
The Georgia Office Problem: FMB and the Splitting of Identities
Another major issue involves the Georgia office connected to FMB-related operations. In my view, these parties have tried to split their presence into multiple supposed companies, multiple names, and multiple listings within the same general structure or location in order to blur responsibility and confuse the public.
This kind of fragmentation can make it difficult for customers and investigators to determine:
who is actually operating the business,
who is responsible for sales and representations,
what company is behind particular advertising,
and whether the same parties are simply rotating names to avoid accountability.
From my perspective, this is not transparency. It is the opposite.
It creates a maze of names and labels that appears designed to distance one coordinated operation from the consequences of its own conduct.
A Pattern of Confusion, Misrepresentation, and Market Damage
This is not an isolated dispute. It is part of a much larger pattern that has caused lasting damage to my business.
Over the years, I have seen repeated conduct that, in my opinion, includes:
misuse of the FIRBIMATIC name in the United States,
false or misleading public listings,
online impersonation and identity confusion,
overlapping corporate identities,
attempts to appear as multiple independent companies,
interference with my established marketplace presence,
and efforts to erase or overshadow my longstanding role in this industry.
Customers should understand that this confusion did not happen by accident.
In my opinion, it reflects a sustained effort to rewrite history, redirect goodwill, and separate the public from the true source of longstanding U.S. industry knowledge, service, and identity.
This misconduct, in my view, has been ongoing since the late 1990s, which helps explain why the offending parties may appear credible to those unfamiliar with the full history. False legitimacy can be built over time when the same misleading names, listings, and representations are repeated year after year. To the public, longevity can look like proof. But longevity alone does not create rights, truth, or authenticity. It only means the deception has been allowed to continue long enough to create the illusion of credibility where none rightfully exists.
Why I Am Speaking Out
I have remained patient for many years while trying to address these issues through proper channels, documentation, and evidence. But there comes a point where silence only helps the confusion continue.
I am speaking out because the public deserves clarity.
People searching for FIRBIMATIC-related products or support in the United States should know that not every listing, company name, office location, or phone number using that identity reflects the true historical business presence behind it.
They should also know that the splitting of one network into multiple names and listings can itself become a tool of deception.
My Position
My position is simple:
Corbett Equipment is the true longstanding U.S. entity associated with my historical FIRBIMATIC-related work, service, publishing, and industry presence. The parties now presenting themselves through Chicago and Georgia under fragmented names and listings are, in my view, engaged in a continuing pattern of misrepresentation that has harmed my company and misled the public.
I will continue documenting these issues and preserving records of conduct connected to false listings, misleading business identities, improper public representations, and related interference with my business.
A Message to the Public
If you are a customer, supplier, service contact, or member of the dry cleaning industry, I urge you to look carefully at who you are dealing with.
Do not assume that multiple listings mean multiple independent companies.Do not assume that a toll-free number, a Chicago listing, or a Georgia office means legitimacy.Do not assume that the loudest public claim is the true one.
The truth matters. The history matters. And the damage caused by long-term impersonation, confusion, and coordinated hostility is very real.
Corbett Equipment remains committed to telling the truth, preserving the record, and defending its name, history, and rights.
